PointeCast™ Releases New PowerPoint®-To-Flash™ Authoring Tool

Salt Lake City, Utah—July 26, 2005—PointeCast today announced the immediate availability of PointeCast Publisher, an affordable rapid authoring tool that automatically converts Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations into Internet-ready presentations and eLearning courses—in just a matter of seconds.

With over 30 million PowerPoint presentations delivered every day, PowerPoint is the de facto presentation authoring tool used by people around the world. Now, using PointeCast Publisher, these same people can immediately turn their PowerPoint presentations into self-directed online presentations and courses, complete with an accompanying presenter narration. PointeCast Publisher installs as a plug-in that is accessible as a menu item inside PowerPoint. Publisher lets anyone add quizzes and surveys to their presentation, record a voice narration that is synchronized with the presentation slides and animations, and publish their entire PowerPoint presentation into a Flash format—generally reducing the file size by 90% or more—for efficient Internet delivery. The newly published presentation can be easily distributed via the web, an intranet, or CD-ROM. Publisher-converted presentations do not require PowerPoint and can be viewed in any standard Flash-enabled web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Content produced by PointeCast Publisher has been certified SCORM conformant by Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) and converted presentations can be tracked inside a SCORM-based learning management system, such as PointeCast Portal.
